this too shall pass.

Most of you may be surprised, even bothered, when I say that the hardest decision in my entire life relates to sports.

But it's true.

I mean, really, I'm 16. 17 in a week, what else have I had to decide?

But no, honestly. I have another "concussion". And today, while being examined by our athletic trainer, she looked me right in the eyes and said, "You are never to head the ball ever again."

So. I'm not sure how many of you know all that much about soccer, but this in a nutshell means that this is the end of the road competitively. I finish varsity, maybe play some indoor, maybe a few adult leagues sometime... but I can probably kiss College ball- even intermural- goodbye.

Heading is an important part of the game. Soccer is the ONLY sport in the world that uses one's head as a weapon. And it's a very important weapon. Especially in my position (centerback).

so.

here's my decision:

-Not entirely listen to people, and keep playing competitively, only heading the ball when i really need to.

or

-Give up on my dream of competitive college soccer, but save my head in the process.

I have no idea.

this, my friend, is an impossible decision.

it may kill me before the concussion does.
