hit play, then read.

take a breath. a deep one. and not because i'm telling you to- i want you to really just take in a deep breath, close your eyes, and just stop. 

stop thinking. 

stop. 

When was the last time you really stopped for a moment? 

In Psalms 46 it says: 

God is our refuge and strength, 

a very present help in times of trouble. 

therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, 

though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,

though its waters roar and foam,

though the mountains tremble at its swelling. 

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, 

the holy habitation of the Most High.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;

God will help her when morning dawns.

the nations rage, the kingdoms totter;

He utters His voice, the earth melts. 

the Lord of hosts is with us;

the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Come, behold the works of the Lord,

how he has brought desolations on the earth.

He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;

He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;

He burns the chariots with fire.

"BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD.

I will be exalted among all the nations,

I will be exalted in the earth!"

The Lord of hosts is with us!

The God of Jacob is our fortress.

Be still. 

not just physically. stop thinking. be completely still. 

and know, that He is God. 

He is and He was and He always will be. 

but more than that? He is our refuge, and our strength. 

without Him? we are nothing. we have nothing. HE IS OUR EVERYTHING.

and He loves us. He is a help in times of trouble. even when the mountains

tremble! when the oceans roar! even when your life is harder than you ever imagined it could be. when you're stressed, or overwhelmed. When you're depressed. When you tell yourself you aren't good enough- when you believe that you're not good enough. 

when you feel alone. 

when your parents are fighting, even if your parents are gone! 

if your friends have betrayed you- or if you have betrayed them. 

if it honestly feels like there is no one. no one who cares as much as you need them too. 

this is the stuff we feel. the stuff we deal with. we can relate to this, because we've known it, and it sucks. 

but when you feel like there is no hope? HE is your hope. 

It's during these times when we have nothing left to do but fall down at the feet of the one who gave everything He had and was to save us. The one who didn't care that we fail sometimes. That didn't care if we're good enough. because you know what?

it's in our weaknesses, that His power is made perfect. 

He will be exalted through all the earth!

He will break every bow and shatter every spear.. and then He will take you up into His arms, and cradle you. and you know the best part? He wont let go. not now, not ever. 

He is so powerful, and He is so loving. 

so, we are a broken people. and sometimes, the easiest thing to do in this crazy overwhelming world, is hide from it. 

don't hide from it. He is with you! in Jeremiah He says that He knows the plans He has for you! and they are not plans to harm you.. but to give you a hope and a future!

HOW AMAZING IS THAT?

so what i'm asking you today... is to just be still. 

don't hide. 

just soak in the love that is God. 

soak in the fact that He is here with you right now, and nothing in this world is strong enough to shake Him off. 

be still and know that He is God. 

and He has your back. and your front. and everything else. 

how cool is that?
